Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia wedding

Mike & Jessica

An Auspicious Date for Love

Mike & Jessica

Mike and Jessica said “I do” on 12/13/14 at Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia, a date that surely indicates good fortune ahead. The couple met at James Madison University in Virginia and currently live just outside D.C.; Jessica works as marketing manager at a D.C.-area consulting firm and Mike as a content manager at a Maryland startup. However, they couldn't imagine getting married elsewhere once they discovered Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia, and the day proved as magical as they'd envisioned—all the way from the lavender-lit reception to personalized party additions like horns, pom pom drink stirrers, a candy bar and even a caricaturist.

The ceremony began at 5pm and was filled with personal touches like the song Everlong by Foo Fighters for the processional and a backdrop made from a fireplace mantle that the bride's brother refurbished himself, decorated with floating candles and baby's breath.

The ballroom made for a perfect choice for their reception with its soft lavender lighting. And then there's green, as in Green Day. Mike's best friend, lead singer of local Philly band Nobody Yet, actually surprised everyone by playing one of Mike's favorite songs by the band, a crowd pleaser to say the least!

“The location was amazing, in the heart of so much America history.” - Jessica
