Aimee + Caleb

Rooftop Romance at Hotel Monaco

Two PA Natives say “I Do” in Philadelphia

Aimee and Caleb’s wedding was hardly their first formal event as a couple. For that, you have to go back to their junior prom. These two high school sweethearts met in 11th grade and went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh. After moving to Philadelphia post-graduation in 2015, they fell hard for the city and decided to tie the knot here. “Philadelphia is a city filled with love and is home to our friends and family, so it seemed like the perfect fit for us,” they said.

When choosing the ideal wedding venue, Aimee and Caleb wanted to take into account the realities of the pandemic, and sought an outdoor space that would allow guests to feel safe and comfortable. Enter: Hotel Monaco and Stratus Rooftop Lounge which offered, “the safety and precautions we needed to keep our friends and family safe, while also providing the most picturesque rooftop for our reception.”

Memorable Details

The couple spent the morning of their wedding in separate suites, preparing for the big day with their nearest and dearest. Aimee sipped mimosas and enjoyed a relaxing morning (with laughter and tears, of course) with her bridal party and parents. Caleb spent his morning with his groomsmen and family and “relearned the art of tying a tie.” Then they made their way to the Vapor Pavilion for a “pre-game pep talk.”

“Desiree and her team at Hotel Monaco were beyond amazing. We met Desiree only three months before our wedding when we were looking to change venues, and she made everything happen. She exceeded all of our expectations and we couldn’t be happier!”

We fell in love with the Stratus Rooftop Lounge when looking for a safe, yet perfect venue for our wedding while in the middle of a global pandemic.

Aimee & Caleb opted to forego the traditional "first look," as Caleb said, when picturing their wedding day, his only request was that his first time seeing his bride would be when she walked down the aisle. When the moment finally came for Caleb to see Aimee in her gorgeous Enzoani gown as she walked down the aisle arm-in-arm with her father, it was a truly magical moment.

Though their pre-ceremony photos were taken separately, post-ceremony Aimee and Caleb stole away for their first photos together as husband and wife, while their guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at Stratus Rooftop Lounge. The good times continued for all throughout the reception on the hotel’s rooftop. “The evening was absolutely perfect,” said the couple.
