Mika and Sam

After leaving Florida A&M University, Mika and Sam's friendship carried on. In fact, 10 years post-graduation, they began to date and, after three years of long-distance, they got engaged. The destined pair wanted their fall nuptials to happen in the bride's hometown, and Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia proved a perfect "modern, elegant, chic and eclectic" venue for their wedding on a 70-degree, sun-soaked October day. After five months of planning, the team pulled together an intimate Stratus Rooftop Lounge ceremony, followed by a cocktail hour that featured tasty butlered hor d'oeuvres including, "the largest shrimp cocktail and scrumptious sushi station as the sun set and the firewall blazed." The joyous celebration then continued at the Lafayette Ballroom reception.

By 5 p.m., the rooftop had filled with 120 family members, friends and musicians, waiting in joyful anticipation.

"We are so thankful to the staff at Hotel Monaco for making the wedding of our dreams come true."
